Rethinking the Wi-fi Router with the TL3301 Series Tact Switch

We all have that room in our homes where Wi-Fi struggles to reach. It could be the basement, or perhaps the top-most room of a converted attic, or maybe even the garage when trying to do a home workout, the last thing one needs is a spotty Wi-Fi connection to interrupt your carefully curated playlist…right? Whatever it may be, we can all agree bad Wi-Fi connection is a real pain in the router.

One E-Switch customer has sought to rid us of this first-world problem by providing a new innovative Wi-Fi system. Their state-of-the-art technology brings Wi-Fi down halls, around walls, and to every corner of the house. Unlike the traditional routers, we’re oh-so-familiar with, their system uses multiple devices that work together harmoniously to send a connection out in every direction, so we never need to worry about a bad signal ever again.

Every great product requires an equally capable switch to make it function. A compact switch that didn’t sacrifice functionality and quality was needed to complement the sleek and contemporary design. The TL3301 was their tactile switch of choice. Or to be more precise, TL3301EF160QG.

Let’s get into some of the details of this versatile tact switch:

The TL3301 is a 6x6mm SMT Tact Switch with an SPST contact arrangement. One reason the TL3301 series is such a popular choice is the wide range of Actuator heights and styles. This particular customer chose the 7.3mm out of a total of 10 options. 3 different Actuation Forces are available depending on your final output needs; 100gf, 160gf, and 260gf. Either gold or silver contacts are available. In this case, silver contacts were chosen for their low contact resistance and cost-effective properties. To keep the switches low-profile and noninvasive nature; Gull Wing terminations were the final specs needed to end this customer’s design journey.
