Engineering Manager

What does this job look like daily?

The Engineering Manager is responsible for all facets of product engineering for the entire E-Switch portfolio. This would include overseeing all engineering functions such as documentation, ECO process, STEP file availability, environmental reporting, safety requirements and certifications, supplier management, and technical training. Maintain all current products and drive new product introductions, ensuring a continuous pipeline of switches or new switch technologies that will increase current product offerings or broaden current capabilities. Ensure the engineering team will support all other departments as required for 100% customer satisfaction.

Knowledge and Skills to be successful:

  • Spearhead the “New Product Introduction” strategy of switches or new technologies from our suppliers and provide all necessary marketing and technical information including, ordering codes, specification sheets, and installation drawings.
  • Maintain all current products as required.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships and have a deep understanding of their capabilities, products, and production processes. Will also need to source potential new suppliers for expansion of the product lines.
  • Oversee all engineering procedures and activities to support all other departments which would include custom products, technical data, failure analysis, marketing information and technical support.
  • Coordinate with both internal and external sources to ensure the E-Switch product line is current and up to date for all relevant environmental and safety agency requirements and regulations.


  • Mechanical Engineering Degree (BSME) or Electrical Engineering Degree (BSEE)
  • Experience in electromechanical design and development including knowledge in FMEA, PPAP, safety agency regulations, and environmental regulations.
  • Experience in manufacturing processes including plastic injection molding, metal stamping, PCB assembly, tool design and fabrication, cable assembly, and metal fabrication.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Inventor 3D Solid Modeling.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in electronics industry.
  • Excellent communication skills are required to coordinate with customers, co-workers, and suppliers (domestic and foreign).
  • Must be available to travel to both domestic and international locations.

Quality Manager

What does this job look like daily?

Ownership of the company quality program, all policies, and procedures, in accordance with customer and company requirements. Set standards and effectively evaluate products, processes, and procedures within the company, and work with the appropriate departments and personnel to continually improve the quality relating to those items and activities. Manage the inspection department and actively participate in the inspection process as necessary to assist in the on-time shipping of product to customers.

Knowledge and Skills to be successful:

  • Establish procedures and reporting for maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.
  • Determine and enforce—-through functional groups—-quality and reliability requirements in accordance with real company needs, based on current regulations and state-of-the art product development.
  • Responsible for failure analysis, 8D reporting, disposition and working with customers on all customer complaints.
  • Working with suppliers on received quality levels, customer issues, and defective products to ensure product conformance, root cause analysis, and product validation and improvements on all customer complaints
  • Organize and promote companywide quality improvement efforts.
  • Evaluate and develop improved techniques for the control of quality and reliability relating to purchased products and services.


  • Responsible for implementation and maintenance of the company quality system, reporting on the performance of the quality system for review and as a basis for improvement of the quality system.
  • Responsible to act as liaison with external parties on matters relating to the quality system.
  • Manage the inspection activities and associated personnel.
  • Prepares and maintains receiving inspections and records measurements per Inspection Procedures (IP).
  • Coordinates issuance of all test equipment and periodically sends test equipment out for calibration.
  • Communicate to suppliers regarding product discrepancies via Material Acceptance Report (MAR) or return of samples via express mail.
  • A member of the Material Review Board (MRB). Held weekly.
  • Inspect all outgoing product(s) prior to shipping to assure that part numbers, product, and documents match.
  • Provide direction, procedures, and problem resolution for inspection department at the Hong Kong Warehouse facility.
  • Work with Hong Kong facility on any inspection equipment issues, equipment needs, inspection technique questions, and other quality related matters as necessary.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


  • Four-year technical degree. Additional class work in management type courses and problem-solving techniques (i.e., Statistical Quality Control, ISO 9000, AQL levels, 8D reporting, etc.).
  • Five plus years of broad quality experience, of which at least two to three years should be in quality management and/or quality engineering.
  • Three to five years’ experience in managing technical personnel and complex activities. These experiences should be gained in areas of engineering or technical operations and should include a minimum of three years in quality management.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
